Venues across Surrey and Sussex are beginning to plan for opening this summer after the Prime Minister announced his roadmap to take the country out of lockdown.
Under plans outlined by Boris Johnson on Monday, current restrictions could be lifted by the end of June, paving the way for hospitality and entertainment venues to begin operating a fuller service.
Staff at ‘The Venue’ in Merstham are among those already preparing, with the venue’s Twitter account announcing they are now open for bookings.
While parties appear to be the focus, Venue bosses say they are also keen to support local acts who have been starved of performance opportunities in recent months.
The message said: “With restrictions lifting, get your party or event booked in at ‘The Venue’ this summer.
“If you’re a local band, singer or entertainer then please also get in contact as we would love to [support local].”
