A transit site for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities is planned between Merstham and Bletchingley.

Surrey Council has committed £1.2m to develop the south side of Pendall Camp saying it will give police powers to direct Travellers there from other land.

It is to legalise retrospectively four existing pitches in an area which has been used for more than 10 years.
