Reigate and Banstead has the second lowest rate of Coronavirus cases in Surrey, despite surge testing being deployed in the area.
Testing was increased at the end of last week to control the spread of Covid-19 variants, with Reigate town centre one of the key areas of focus.
New figures published by Surrey County Council show that the borough now has a rate of 50.4 cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 people. That is lower than any other Surrey borough except Tandridge. Epsom and Ewell has the highest rate with 94.3.
Surge testing is still in place in Reigate and Banstead, however, as authorities take a proactive approach to tackling the virus.
