The England football manager grew up in Crawley attending Pound Hill Junior School and Hazelwick School.  Although England lost to Italy, last night’s Euro 2020 final was the first major men’s tournament final since winning the World Cup 55 years ago.

The petition was started by Facebook group, Spotted: Crawley after Southgate’s side reached the semi final in the 2018 World Cup.  The group resurrected the petition during the Euro 2020 tournament as England progressed through to the final.

The petition has proposed locations for a statue at the Broadfield Stadium Roundabout, The High Street and Queen’s Square.
