Residents’ views are being sought for a pre-planning application proposal for a new Gypsy, Roma and Traveller (GRT) transit site in Tandridge. 

The proposal will create ten short-term stay pitches on land adjacent to the permanent GRT site at Pendell Camp in Merstham Road.  With no transit provision for Gypsies, Roma and Travellers anywhere in Surrey, the site would provide temporary refuge for those who travel around the UK looking for seasonal work. 

Surrey County Council hopes the facility will reduce the number of unauthorised encampments across Surrey.
