Crawley Town Football Club have announced ‘The Boomtown Rats’ are sponsoring their sleeve for this weekend’s first-round Emirates FA Cup clash against Tranmere Rovers.
It will mark the first time a band has ever sponsored a professional football club in the Emirates FA Cup. The club says it is extremely proud of its relationship with Sir Bob Geldof and The Boomtown Rats, and looks forward to working with the band further in the near future.
Commercial Manager Keith Murray said: “It’s great that we are continuing our relationship with the band and hope it progresses further going forward. Despite our run of recent losses, behind the scenes, we are really moving forward. We have had more than 100 people in hospitality for the last few games, and that just shows the progress we have made as a club. We are doing so much off the field, especially with the Gratitude Scheme, and I think people are recognising that. Despite the recent defeats, the mood and the feedback we are getting is positive.”
