Nearly one in 10 of Surrey’s population is an unpaid carer.
Carers’ Rights Day highlights the importance of all carers, whatever the stage of their caring journey, knowing and understanding their rights – and being able to access the support they need and are entitled to.
With multiple local charities and organisation in attendance, carers will be able to get practical, financial and legal information about their rights, plus support on caring generally. As well as ‘Action For Carers, Surrey’, organisations attending our various fairs include the National Autistic Society, Brigitte Trust, Mary Frances Trust, Princess Alice Hospice, St Catherine’s Hospice, the Centre for Psychology, Sight for Surrey, National Energy Action, Surrey Choices, Warmth Matters and the Surrey Fire & Rescue Service.
There will also be some relaxation and wellbeing sessions on offer.
The Redhill event takes place from 10am till 2pm, at the Harlequin Theatre, and will be opened by The Mayor of Reigate and Banstead, Councillor Jill Bray.
Admission is FREE and refreshments will be available in the theatre’s café.
