A grant of £97,000 has been awarded to Crawley Borough Council to install Changing Places toilets at two popular venues.
The grant has come from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities and will fund the installation of the toilets designed to support people who need assistance with facilities such as hoists and a large secure changing bench. Without a suitable bench, many disabled people have the undignified and unhygienic experience of laying on the floor to be changed.
Changing Places toilets are already available at the County Mall Shopping Centre, and soon coming to the new Town Hall. The newly funded toilets will be installed at K2 Crawley and The Hawth Theatre.
