A prankster has admitted he is responsible for a huge sign reading ‘Welcome to Luton’ thats been seen by passengers on incoming flights at Gatwick Airport.

Max Fosh reportedly spent £4,000 creating the nearly 200ft message, after persuading the owners of a field near the airport to let him use their land.

One passenger said they were left in a state of panic, after noticing the sign, while another was worried how they would collect their car, given the distance between the two airports is around 60 miles.

Fosh’s, You Tube channel has 926,000 subscribers which shows videos of other previous pranks, including running for the Mayor of London in 2021, where he gained over 6000 votes.

Passengers in the aircraft on approach to Gatwick have just 90 seconds before they realise it’s all been one big joke, as they then land at their intended destination.
