Crawley’s, MP Henry Smith, has paid tribute to Her Majesty the Queen and talked with fond memories about when she visited the town.
In 1950, the then-Princess Elizabeth officially opened Manor Royal, after the Princess herself had chosen the name.
Her Majesty, along with the Duke of Edinburgh visited Crawley a total of 6 times, with the last being in 2006 at the opening of the new Thomas Bennett Community College.
In addition to speaking in Parliament, the Crawley MP has also paid his respects to Her Majesty, by signing the book of commemoration at the Town Hall.
