West Sussex County Council and UK Harvest a working together on a pilot scheme to help reduce food waste in Crawley.
The project will encourage people to take advantage of surplus food rescue services and learn how to reduce waste.
The food rescue pilot will start in October and will run for six months.
Once a month for a small voluntary donation of £3.50, people will be able to pick a selection of surplus foods which would have otherwise ended up as waste from suppliers.
