Unauthorised Encampment In Oxted

Tandridge District Council is taking steps to prosecute the occupants of the unauthorised encampment set up on a field off Tanhouse Road in Oxted.

Back in December several caravans moved onto the site, where drainage work and hard surfacing was soon installed.

The Council served several enforcement notices to prevent further development and for the occupants to leave.

Because no-one has yet left the site, the Council are taking steps to prosecute the occupants for not complying with the notices given to them.

Glow Worms Found In Dorking

A council-run hedge-planting scheme has been modified after the discovery of a colony of glow-worms in Norbury Park, near Dorking.

Surrey County Council said the changes were to benefit the species and enhance the declining habitat to provide a better chance of survival.

A flock of sheep grazing close to the glow-worms were also moved to a nearby field to minimise disturbance.
