With less than three weeks to go until the voter registration deadline for local elections in May, anyone who wants to place their vote must make sure they are election ready.
The deadline to register online is midnight on Monday 17 April. For postal votes it’s 5pm the following day.
Voters can apply online at https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. It takes just five minutes.
For the first time, voters will need to show photo ID when attending in person at a polling station. However, you don’t need ID if you are intending to vote by post.
Residents in Reigate and Banstead areas will be voting to select borough councillors, as well as Horley Town Council, Salford’s and Sidlow Parish Councillors.
