Two thieves who stole an 18 carat gold ring worth £60,000 from a jewellers in Eastbourne have been jailed.

Shabir Patal and Khaqan Raja stole the item before making a run in a vehicle.

The getaway car was spotted on the A23 heading north towards Crawley at speeds of 120mph.

Police were able to stop the vehicle on the M23  north of Crawley.

Raja was sentenced to two years and four month in prison while Patel was sentenced to one year.
