Surrey County Council are to pay £15,000 to families for it failures in providing education to some children.

Three reports published by the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman found the council caused children to miss large amounts of school time, delay making education, health and care plans and then failing to provide what was recommended.

The council apologised and must now provide evidence of how it is going to improve in certain areas.
