Police are urging passengers to check their bags for prohibited items before they pass through Gatwick Airport security this summer.

Staff continue to find items that can’t be carried in hand luggage, including small knives, tools with lock blades and scissors.

When finding these items it can cause delays for the passenger.

Chief inspector Chris Veale advises passengers to check their bags before leaving home to prevent Police intervention.
