A cyclist has died in Smallfield while taking part in the London to Brighton Bike Ride yesterday. 

The British Heart Foundation, which organises the event, confirmed the sad news on Sunday afternoon. 

Chief Executive, Charmaine Griffiths, has said that the organisation’s deepest sympathies are with the rider’s loved ones. 

The next of kin have been informed and an investigation is under way.
