Passengers at Gatwick have experienced delays due to staff shortages and weather conditions in Europe.
Around 70 flights were cancelled yesterday, including those to Bilbao, Paris and Rome.
The airport blamed last-minute staff shortages at the control tower and air traffic restrictions , adding it has been disproportionately affected as it handles more European flights than other UK airports.
It comes as some of the strikes planned by baggage handlers and other workers at the airport in the peak summer travel period have been suspended or cancelled, the Unite trade union said on Monday.
