The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, says the Home Counties should create their own schemes to help people cope with the expanded Ultra Low Emission Zone.
In response Surrey County Council’s cabinet member for transport, infrastructure and growth, Matt Furniss, says the mayor has never addressed its concerns. Although the scrappage scheme has now been extended to all Londoners with non-compliant vehicles, Surrey residents with older vehicles needing to come into the capital, have no support.
Surrey County Council is refusing to give the Mayor permission to display ULEZ warning signs in the county.
From 29th August, motorists of older vehicles will have to pay £12.50 a day to drive in Greater London.
