It’s part of the council’s pledge to plant 1.2 million trees by 2030 with an aim to have one tree for each resident in the county.

Reigate and Dorking were two of the many areas where trees were being handed out.

Recipients were also given guidance on how to plant and care for their tree and give it the best start in its new environment.
