Surrey police officers had to set up a cordon in Dorking on Saturday following the discovery of a suspected unexploded ordnance.

A member of the public found the device just before 1pm on Hampstead Road.

The specialist bomb squad team arrived and assessed the device, concluding it didn’t pose any risk.
