Refurbishments on Lingfield Fire station will now start before the end of the summer.

The work had been due to start earlier this year, along with overhauls for Chobham and Reigate’s buildings.

As well as the second vehicle bay, Lingfield will also get better facilities to handle contaminants, a new gym and a space to allow more community work.

Lingfield’s crew and vehicles will be temporarily relocated to Oxted, which is being funded by Surrey County Council.
