Last month five children, treated by Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (SASH), joined the annual children’s Magical Taxi Tour to Disneyland. 

The children, who were selected for their courage in the face of chronic illnesses, embarked on a three-day journey to Disneyland Paris in a convoy of more than 90 London taxis.  They were escorted by the City of London Police, Gendarmerie Nationale and other emergency services.

The event is organised by the Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage Drivers; it’s now in its 30th year and this is the 7th year that SASH has participated, with the dedicated hospital team ensuring their children’s safety throughout the trip.  All drivers volunteer their time and vehicles.
