Dorking Halls is to Re-open to the Public

Dorking Halls is reopening to the public on Monday following a six-month closure in a multi-million-pound renovation.

Work to replace the plaster ceiling was extended when it was discovered paint in the art deco building which was first built in 1931 contained traces of lead.

As well as upgraded cinema projectors, the building features new toilets and a new lobby.

Further work to repair the roof along with critical mechanical and electrical systems will also be replaced which are due to take place next year.

Cinema screenings are due to resume on Monday, with the Pantomime Sleeping Beauty starting on 20 December.
