A teenager from Horsham has been arrested after police attempted to stop him for riding a bike after midnight without any lights.

He was spotted on Kings Road and refused to stop for officers, choosing instead to cycle off the wrong way around the roundabout.

The teenager eventually stopped and when questioned by police he claimed the bike belonged to a friend but refused to name them.

He has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous cycling, failing to stop when directed by a uniformed police constable and theft of a pedal cycle.

Police are keen to reunite the blue and black Scott Rockwood bicycle with its rightful owner.
