Work’s started on the most energy efficient council homes ever to be built in Crawley.

Six flats and seven houses in Gales Place, Three Bridges are built to the Passivhaus standard, which is a certification system that ensures that buildings are as energy efficient as possible.

The homes are so energy efficient that only minimal heating is required to maintain comfortable temperatures all year round.

This means that annual running costs for the homes are expected to be significantly lower than conventional new houses.

The development is scheduled for completion in spring 2017.
