An MP who was badly burned in a bonfire accident last year will donate half the royalties from his book to the hospital that treated him.
The Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead treated Gordon Henderson, Conservative MP for Sittingbourne and Sheppey when he suffered burns to his body whilst lighting a fire with a small amount of petrol.
Mr Henderson wrote his book Operation Seal Island, an adventure story set in South Africa during Apartheid, during his convalescence. He said he wanted to donate half of any royalties from the sales as a thank you to the Hospital for the wonderful treatment he received from them.
