A new team is being set up by Sussex Police to tackle road deaths.
It’ll be the enforcement side of ‘Operation Crackdown’, the public reporting tool for antisocial driving in the county. Officers will be specially trained in a number of areas including breath testing, drug wipes and vehicle examination.
55 people were killed in road collisions in Sussex last year, and Chief Constable Giles York hopes the new measures which come into force in autumn will help bring this number down.
