Merstham Repair Café

Friends of Merstham have announced the launch of the first Repair Café which begins next month.

By promoting repairs, the group wants to help reduce mountains of waste.  Volunteer repair experts will be available to make all possible repairs free of charge. People visiting the Café can bring along their broken items from home such as bikes, toys, and electrical items.

The Repair Café concept arose in The Netherlands 8 years ago.  The Repair Café Foundation supports local groups around the world wishing to start their own Café and the Foundation has given support to the project in Merstham.

The first Merstham Repair Café is on Monday 13th November from 1-5 pm at Age Concern in Weldon Way and aims to become a monthly event.
