A £50,000 donation from the Church of Scientology to The Queen Victoria Hospital has been called ‘completely inappropriate.’
Liberal Democrat MP Norman Lamb says the NHS should not be accepting funds from the organisation, which has been called a brainwashing cult by critics.
The Church of Scientology strongly denies the criticism levelled at it.
A spokesperson for the hospital says the money was considered in context of all relevant guidelines before being accepted in October.
