A man in his 50s is in hospital with serious injuries following a collision on the M23 at South Nutfield.

It happened on Sunday night and resulted in the south-bound carriageway being closed between Junction 8 and 9 towards Gatwick until 3am the next day.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who may have dash cam footage.
