An armed robbery has taken place at a betting shop in Pound Hill, Crawley.

The suspect threatened staff with a suspected hand-gun at Coral Racing Ltd on Worth Road Bank Holiday Monday before escaping with several hundred pounds in cash.

No shots were fired and no one was hurt during the incident which took place shortly after 9 o’clock Monday evening.

The suspect wore a black motorcycle helmet with the visor down, a grey or black jacket, skinny jeans or trousers, gloves and trainers.

It is believed the suspect is a man who spoke with a slightly French accent.

Officers believe this is an isolated incident.
