There are only a few days left for local residents and businesses to comment on Gatwick Airport’s draft master plan.
Plans include using new technology to increase capacity to the main runway in the near term; bringing Gatwick’s standby runway into routine use for departing flights alongside its main runway by the mid 2020s; and while not actively pursuing the option of building a new runway south of the airport, Gatwick believes it is in the national interest to safeguard this land for the future.
The twelve week public consultation on the airport’s growth plans closes at 5pm on Thursday and can be accessed at gatwickairport.com/masterplan2018.
