Local residents can now access information on Gatwick’s aircraft noise after a £1,000,000 investment in new technology.  

Up to 23 new noise monitoring terminals have been introduced to surrounding areas to collect noise levels which can be presented in real time alongside flight information from airport radar systems. Information is updated every second so that residents can access data and generate reports on demand.  

The new system also allows noise complaints to be submitted via an automated telephone line.

Airlines can use the information to improve flight performance and reduce noise.
