Work on Redhill’s Marketfield Way development is due to start this week.
It will begin with fencing off the area behind the vacant properties in the high street to install site facilities. The buildings will then be stripped out ready for demolition in the new year. Demolition of the existing buildings and site preparations will take around three months to complete.
Starting this week, contractors will be drilling test boreholes in the Marketfield Road car park to check the ground conditions. The car park will be permanently closed from 2nd January 2020. Redhill market will remain in operation from 19th-24th December.
Construction is expected to be completed in Summer 2022. Once complete, the development will house a multi-screen cinema, improved shopping and leisure facilities and new homes.
