Passengers faced travel disruption to flights and rail services yesterday as Storm Ciara passed over the UK.
Flights to and from Gatwick Airport were delayed, cancelled and in some cases diverted yesterday due to air traffic control restrictions relating to the high winds.
Train journeys were run on a reduced service with a speed limit of 50 miles per hour. Additional empty trains were run across the network in the early hours of this morning to find and remove any obstructions before this morning’s rush hour.
