Gatwick Airport has funded an engineering programme for local primary schools.
Fifteen schools across Surrey, Sussex and Croydon are taking part in the Primary Engineer project; eight of the schools are in the Crawley and Horsham area. The project gives teachers enhanced skills to deliver Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths, or STEM subjects, in an engaging way. Two teachers from each of the schools attended a training workshop in January with engineers and apprentices from the airport.
The primary school children will present their projects at an event at the Millais School in Horsham in June .
