An appeal to help the family of an East Surrey Hospital nursing assistant who died from coronavirus has passed its £10,000 target in less than 24 hours.

It was set up by colleagues of 49-year-old, father of two, Ruben Munoz who passed away on Friday.

Ruben had worked at the hospital in Redhill since 2010 and has been described as a ‘gem to the ward and a star to the patients’
His family say he will be remembered as a “beloved husband and amazing father”, who was “so proud of his NHS Woodland Ward family.”
