One Million items of PPE delivered by West Sussex PPE Cell

One million items of PPE have been delivered across West Sussex by the county’s PPE Cell since the start of March.

The so-called Cell, was brought together using Fire & Rescue Service personnel and County Council teams to support health and social care providers as well as frontline workers.

West Sussex County Council Leader Paul Marshall hailed the milestone figure and commended the group’s team effort during the pandemic. He said:
“While these past few months have been an incredibly testing time for many communities across our county, you never have to look very far to find some incredible stories of success. Stories that show how people have pulled together in these extremely difficult times to make the impossible possible.
“The PPE cell team have been working really hard to ensure that frontline staff working to support our residents receive the PPE they need to carry out their work in a safe manner. One million is a milestone figure for them and has been a real team effort.”
