A nine year old Surrey girl has become the youngest person to sign up for a thirty-mile fundraising challenge in support of the air ambulance service.
Scarlett Fuller will aim to cycle 30 miles throughout the 30 days of September to raise funds for the organisation which saved her grandfather when he was seriously injured after being thrown from his horse.
The youngster said she hopes money raised will allow the air ambulance to help others.
Lynne Harris, Executive Director of Income Generation at Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance said:
“Scarlett is an inspiration, and we are so grateful to her and to everyone who has signed up to take part in our 30 for 30 Challenge so far.
“Over the past 30 years, we have treated more than 30,000 patients with our world class, life-saving emergency care.
It costs more than £14 million a year to sustain our service, and amazingly 89% is donated and raised by the people of Kent, Surrey and Sussex – amazing people like Scarlett.”
Scarlett’s Mum, Sarah Fuller, added:
“When Scarlett found out that KSS is a charity and that it needs to raise its own funds in order to provide its extraordinary service, she really wanted to help.
We read about the 30 for 30 Challenge and Scarlett decided that her own challenge would be to ride 30 miles on her bicycle.”
