A 12-year-old boy was found collapsed on a Crawley street in the early hours of Friday morning.

Police were called to Byrd Road shortly before half past midnight after concerns were raised for the welfare of the youngster. He was taken to hospital in a serious condition and remains there, though he is now stable.

An investigation is ongoing.
