Funding for children with special educational needs in Surrey is set to change.

Surrey County Council has announced it will no longer make discretionary payments to schools based on the number of children with Education Health Care Plans relative to the total number of pupils.

Going forward, the council says it will work with its Schools Forum to distribute a “transitional fund” across those schools which are “most in need”.
