A member of staff was racially abused twice in two days at a Co-Operative store in Epsom.
Police are searching for a man following the hate crimes which took place at the shop on Station Approach on the 22nd and 23rd January. The man was wearing dark blue ripped jeans, black trainers and a hooded gilet. He carried a grey backpack and officers say his clothing looked dirty as if it was workwear.
The perpetrator reportedly approached a staff member and used racist and offensive language on both occasions.
Investigating officer PC Chloe Cook said: “This really unpleasant event saw a man become the target of a hate crime on two consecutive days as he tried to go about his work. We will not stand for a member of our community being subjected to this, and would like your help to identify the perpetrator.”
