Surrey Police have thanked members of the public after a car drove the wrong away along the M25 on Wednesday night. 

Members of the public spotted the grey Vauxhall Insignia driving erratically on the M25 between junctions 8 and 9.  The car was eventually brought to a halt when officers from the Roads Policing Unit went head to head with it, with the two stopping less than a metre apart. 

The driver in her late 30s was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving while unfit through alcohol.
