The YMCA in East Surrey has been awarded a National Lottery grant of over £435,000 to take the role of lead provider in youth work, which will benefit more than 1,000 local young people.
The successful funding bid provided by the lottery’s Community Fund evolved from a series of ‘Get Connected’ workshops run by Reigate & Banstead Borough Council.
The money now secures three years of income to deliver twelve sessions of universal youth work per week, from Surrey County Council owned venues in the east of the region. The first project is due to start in April.
