More than 150 offences were detected as Police carried out a weekend road safety operation in Surrey and Sussex.
The campaign was mainly an engagement exercise with motorcyclists in support of the National Police Chief’s ‘two wheeled’ campaign. Traffic offence reports, fixed penalty notices and court summons were issued across the two counties over last weekend. This was in addition to routine roads policing duties.
In 2020, there were 112 serious collisions in Surrey which led to motorcyclists being injured, seven of which were fatal.
