Network Rail has appealed to the public to not trespass on the tracks, after a picture showing a teenage girl lying on the tracks in Horsham was released.

The girl and a friend were caught on CCTV at a level crossing  where trains pass at up to 85mph.

Network Rail also released images of two boys walking down the track at Bewbush.

The track operator said that it had seen an increase in youth trespassing in Sussex.

The children in both incidents have been identified and spoken to by the British Transport Police.
