Gillingham advanced to the second round of the Carabao Cup with a 10-9 penalty shoot-out victory against Crawley.

By the end of 90 minutes the score was 2-2 at Broadfield Stadium.

Gillingham scored in the first three minute of play but the reds equalised 11 minutes into the second half.

Phillips thought he had won it for Gills with a volley in the fifth minute of stoppage time but Davies stunned the visitors by firing home, taking it to penalties.
