Six children and an adult injured following car crash in school car pak

Six children and an adult were injured after a car crashed in a school car park on Monday.

Children were leaving a holiday camp at Ardingly College at about 4.30pm on Monday when the Tesla car crashed.
Three people were taken from the scene with potentially serious injuries, one patient in critical condition was airlifted to St George’s Hospital.

In a statement, Head of College Ben Figgis said none of the injuries were life-threatening.
He said: “This afternoon at the holiday camp pick-up there was an accident in which six children and a parent were injured by a car on the North Quad. The injured children were treated by emergency responders, and have been taken to hospital for further checks and care. Paramedics at the scene reported that none of the injuries are life-threatening, and of course we are staying in touch with the relevant families. This was a serious incident that caused considerable shock to the children, parents and staff involved, and we are keeping in mind particularly this evening the children who were injured and their families.”

South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed that five children and one adult were taken to hospital.
