A three-year plan has been launched to improve support for unpaid carers in Surrey.
Surrey County Council and its partners has published a new carers’ strategy which pledges a commitment to improve and develop services. Priorities include ensuring carers have their voices heard, and working with employers to better support staff with caring responsibilities.
Sinead Mooney, Cabinet Member for Adults and Health, outlined how the strategy will help the county’s estimated 115,000 unpaid carers:
